It is always good to see that offspring of very important breeders try to keep up the work that was done by the fathers. Everybody thought that "Agallas" would erase after the death of Dr. Fernando Moreno.

History and Origin of the Cabana Agallas

The origin of the name "Agallas" (guts), for our Kennel, was born in the beginning of the decade of the 70s, in honor of one of our specimen, the G C I Agallas (Galuzzi). This happened, when the breed was still not very popular and just before it was recognized by the FCI. The love and the passion for the breed, counts many years back, when the Dogo Argentino still hadn’t a genealogical registration or any kind of record, which means that they were far from any certificates. From that time we dedicated our concentration on our bloodlines and on the most notable characteristics which appeared in the offspring which was dispersed out of all the Argentinean territory. In those years, Buenos Aires did not yet include a suitable amount of specimen which were able to initiate a good breeding stock. That carried us to the decision to use dependable lines which could concentrate the virtues which identify the breed, as were the soundness and the correct temperament, what obliged us to travel a lot with our females and to be able to mate them with males that nobody knew of their existence and which lived in areas too far away of the City of Buenos Aires.
From those moments on, we concentrated our efforts in maintaining a true lineage of Dogos. Our goal was that our puppies should not be a result of coincidence, but they should show the characteristics that were scheduled and planned before the mating, and at the same time they should be able inheritors. Our intention was always to view and raise true future reproduction with correct character set, therefore we decided to call to our nursery "Cabana". With this denomination we showed our intention to perpetuate the characteristics that went setting in successive future generations. Little by little we were verifying that the name of "Cabana" was popularized between various nurseries of Dogos and other breeds, perhaps without knowing the true meaning and function of the same one. Since the beginning, "Cabana Agallas", dedicated its special goals to maintain the special characteristics of the breed, referring to its type and function. Setting the characteristic profiles, the soundness and the temperament were the indispensable conditions in which the whole type referred to.
As for the function, we focused on the breeding stock. They were able hunters or they had among their ancestors exemplars which practiced game hunting, always considering that the genetic memory, is of high broadcast and being faithful to the basements of Dr. Nores Martνnez when he spoke of "functional gymnastics and ancient memory". Through the years, we were marking our successes which showed that we were on the right road. The Dogos that left our nursery were successful in the field of expositions and excellent hunters - when they were utilized with this part - but at the same time able continuers of their ancestors and to their descents when they were utilized correct. And of course that was our yearning. The ups and downs of Argentina’s economy worked in several cases against us, forcing us to reduce the rhythm of the breeding, but failed to cause the extinction of our deep interest in the breed. The Dogos are part of our life, to them we overturn our sacrifices and we dedicate many hours of our lives. Its white coat can be seen always in our tokens as true rewards of a breed that is part of our hearts for so many years.
